THROCKMORTON SHOW GOATS
OUR FARM
Raising Goats with a Winning Mindset Since 2009
Throckmorton Show Goats, located near Greeley in northern Colorado, is a family-run operation specializing in breeding and raising quality Boer goats—both for the registered and wether show rings. Established in 2009 by three generations of the Throckmorton family—Ryan, Jerry, and Jackie—the herd has expanded from a few does to more than 100 animals. Their award-winning, ABGA-registered Boer goats have achieved numerous championships at events such as the National Western Stock Show, ABGA Nationals, Nebraska State Fair, and Colorado State Fair. Additionally, 4-H and FFA members across the region have found success with their wether crop each year.
The family team includes Ryan, Matthew, Jerry, Carol, Erin, and Jackie. The dogs—Hogan, Gretchen, and Blue— ensure the goats stay in line.

OUR STORY
Nationally Competitive, Locally Focused
Ryan has been in the show ring since he was a kid, wrangling just about every species of livestock you can think of. Back in the ‘90s, the family got their start raising show pigs—proof of which still rides around on one of our trailers with a faded “Throckmorton’s 4-H Pigs” decal. But after Ryan started showing market wethers in the early 2000s, the family made a bold move, diving headfirst into breeding, raising, and selling top-tier show goats. It all kicked off in 2009 when Ryan, his dad Jerry, and his grandmother Jackie picked up a few registered percentage does from Ritchey Livestock—and the rest is history. Since then, we’ve turned out national champion percentage does and market wethers that have dominated the competition, racking up grand champion titles across the region.
